This was our first stop before our Nashville gig and I had some pretty great eats before we left that I had to rave about. First off, I had a pretty serious brunch at the Tupelo Honey cafe. I'm talking spiced sweet potato pancakes with a peach butter and topped with slightly spicy roasted pecans. As if that wasn't enough, they had to serve up some freshly made buttermilk biscuits with blueberry preserves on the side. Oh, and they have their own honey. Now, the good coffee in Johnson city was a bit tough to find but I happily stumbled upon the Willow Tree Cafe. This cafe is an absolutely charming and cozy place that reminds me a lot of Ithaca, NY.
So by pancakes at the Tupelo Honey Cafe… I meant pancake... as in one gigantic pancake the size of the plate. There was no way I could have finished this myself.
What I loved the most about Tupelo Honey was that it was located in an old train depot in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. Check it out at Tupelo Honey Cafe!
